Sunday Worship at FPCR
In worship, we joyfully praise and honor the triune God.
In worship, we acknowledge God's presence in the world and in our lives.
In worship, we offer our time, talents, and treasures to God.
In worship, we are equipped to serve God in the world.
We believe that worship, witness and service are one and the same.
Worship is a response to our calling as individuals — and a reflection of our commitment as a body of believers.
Join us, and find an experience that’s warm and familiar, thoughtful and intentional, engaging and challenging.
Every Sunday at 10:30 AM, you may join us in person in the Sanctuary, or online via livestream. All worship elements are available on the homepage of the website.
Communion and Baptism
We partake of communion on the first Sunday of each month. During communion, we remember God’s covenant promise — and we pledge our obedience by sharing the bread and cup. We serve alcohol-free grape juice and gluten-free wafers.
We recognize baptism as the cornerstone of Christian commitment. Baptism (by sprinkling of water) is offered to children of FPCR members, as well as any candidate willing to proclaim their faith.
We'd love to welcome you into Christ’s body and into this family.
Sunday School
We have two different adult Sunday School classes that meet at 9:00 am every Sunday. You are welcome to join these classes at any time!
The “Coffee Class” meets in Room A111, down by the chapel. This conversation based class discusses a variety of topics of interest to thoughtful Christians. And of course, coffee will always be served!
The Present Word Class meets in Room A109, also down by the chapel. This curriculum based class aims to have participants know the content of the Bible, understand the message of the Bible in light of their experiences and relationships, and be aware of God’s redeeming love in our lives.
Childcare During Worship
While children are welcome in all of the worship services at FPCR, we realize that sitting through an entire worship service can be challenging for our youngest friends, not to mention their parents! Each week following the Time with Tiny Theologians, childcare is provided for children kindergarten age and younger. Just meet at the back of the sanctuary and someone will show you where to go.
SUNDAY SCHOOL | 9:00-10:15 am
Our children are currently divided into two age appropriate classes and are greeted and led by loving, trained teachers. The teachers, music leaders and assistants communicate Christ’s love to each child through music, crafts, and Bible stories.
NURSERY | 9-11:00 am
FPCR is happy to provide a safe, loving environment for our youngest members and friends. Well-trained caregivers provide attention to infants and toddlers during worship, Sunday School, and other church events.
Whatever is comfortable: most wear business casual or Sunday best; some, jeans and T-shirts.
We follow the Book of Common Worship and take communion on the first Sunday of every month.
All Sunday School classes begin at 9:00 am. Sanctuary doors will open for Worship at 10:15 am.
We sing out of a Presbyterian hymnal and are led by our Sanctuary Choir.
The parking lot closest to the Sanctuary is Lot A, directly across from the playground and socccer field.
We would love to chat with you!
The worship ministry at FPCR works with the pastor and staff to plan and execute every facet of the worship experience. Our desire is to create an environment where members and guests can commune with God and enjoy fellowship with other believers.
If you’d like to learn more, please contact the ministry elder.
With few exceptions, we follow the 3-year “Revised Common Lectionary”
Sermons at First Presbyterian are intended to make the lectionary material real and meaningful in the lives of our congregants.
Members and non-members alike are welcome to celebrate marriage at FPCR. Contact the church office, and let’s create a meaningful, memorable ceremony and reception for you and your family.
The Sanctuary and Chapel are open to members and their families for funerals (with remains present) and memorial services (without remains present). Contact the Church Office for scheduling and assistance.
